My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was comfortable and welcoming, and the valet service was excellent. Aziz and Abdul did a great job—very professional, friendly, and helpful. They made our experience even better. We would definitely stay here again.

**TL;DR:** The rooms, food, and drinks remain outstanding, but the recent lobby and bar redesign feels like a major misstep—overcrowded with artificial plants and painfully uncomfortable bar seating that kills the relaxed vibe. I've been a regular at this property for the past couple of years, visiting more times than I can count. After about a month away, I walked in and was immediately hit with what can only be described as sensory overload. The once-spacious, welcoming lobby now feels congested and cluttered, dominated by an excessive number of poorly placed artificial plants that look cheap and out of scale. The bar area, which used to be one of my favorite spots to unwind after a long 3–4 hour drive, has been transformed into something far less inviting. The new bar stools offer zero back support—literally none. You can't lean back without awkwardly catching yourself or perching forward like you're at a high-top patio table. It genuinely feels more like sitting outside on a deck than inside a comfortable hotel bar. All that's missing are some string lights and a mosquito zapper to complete the illusion. The redesign choices are baffling. Whoever approved this layout clearly prioritized aesthetics (or perhaps Instagram-appeal) over actual guest comfort. It's a shame because the core experience—the excellent rooms, consistently great food, and solid drink menu—had made this place a reliable favorite. I hope they reconsider and restore some breathing room and proper seating. Until then, I'll still come for the room and the restaurant… but I'll be standing at the bar or heading straight to my room instead of lingering in the lobby. (Still 4/5 overall because the sleeping and eating parts are that good—but the public spaces just took a big hit.)

Nice hotel and friendly front desk personnel. Room was not the cleanest even after being cleaned. Dust on the baseboards in bathroom, long hairs on floor and shower in the bathroom, side table next to chair was never dusted over the 3.5 days. The location is in the Houston Medical area all hospitals and nothing to do around the hotel. The lobby has no charging areas for guests to charge phone, laptops, other devices unless you was to stand next to the elevators, sut behind a plant or move lobby furniture. The room I had was huge and very quiet so pleased with that. The lobby bar was very small for a 20 story hotel. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was really good and reasonably priced.

I had a fantastic stay at InterContinental Houston by IHG! From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive, making check-in seamless and pleasant. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable with modern amenities that made relaxing after a long day easy. The location is excellent — walking distance to the MDA Medical Center and close to Rice University and the Houston Zoo, which made exploring the area super convenient. The onsite restaurant and bar offered great food and drinks, and the outdoor pool was a refreshing bonus. I also appreciated the free shuttle service around the local area. Overall, a top-notch hotel with great service, comfort, and convenience. I would like to thank Abdulaziz and Abdul for the kindness. Highly recommend!

Very well kept hotel at least from my perspective, room was clean , and very spacious, I had two toddlers and a baby , and on top of the double queen size beds we had a pull out couch that was very comfortable, and it was by the window , with the grand view to main street with all the green it was epic, sun up and sun down was beautiful. The food was very tasty , and I love how it was close to most attraction around. We were 10 minutes away from. The national museum, and 11 minutes from the kids museum, and 11minutes from the zoo very cool will highly suggest.

Fantastic hotel with an even better staff. The shuttle was super convenient and Alex was great. Everyone at the front desk was very helpful. Alejandro was great. Rooms were nice and very clean.

Johnetta and Arnez were our servers for brunch and their service was top tier! Tryston the manager was so accommodating! He took such good care of us for our weekend stay! The brunch at the restaurant downstairs was AMAZING! The balcony view from room 335 was gorgeous at night! Every staff member from housekeeping to valet greeted us with a smile and were friendly and attentive! We will surely be back!

This hotel and shuttle service made a difficult hospital stay tolerable. Dwight, the shuttle driver, would keep us motivated. He showed concern for our patient. All the drivers were kind and accommodating. The valets, doormen took care of us. Thank you!
